Leonard Bayer is a highly experienced, seasoned Licensed Real Estate Broker with an impressive track record. Over his career, he has successfully marketed over 5 million square feet of commercial space and facilitated transactions for thousands of apartments, condos, and homes. As the Director of the Goodstein Organization and Chief Operating Officer of Goodstein Development Corp., Leonard oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm. His responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing new acquisition opportunities, as well as strategic positioning, selling, and marketing active developments.
With over 30 years of experience, Leonard has managed, marketed, sold, leased, and financed both commercial and residential multi-family projects. Previously affiliated with Strategic Asset Alliances Realty, L.L.C., he excelled at stabilizing and repositioning distressed properties. Leonard’s background extends beyond real estate: he held high-profile positions at Xerox and NYNEX, and his technology expertise led him to spearhead automation efforts within the real estate industry, including accounting, database management, and marketing functions.
As a New York Real Estate Broker and a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, Leonard is deeply connected to the industry. He also serves on the Board of Directors of COHME (Concerned Home Managers for the Elderly). In 1991, Leonard, along with Ivan and Steven Goodstein, received prestigious awards, including the Freddie Mac Builder of the Year Award and the National Association of Home Builders Award for Sales and Marketing, recognizing their outstanding work on the Cove Club in Battery Park City—a 250,000 square foot condominium development that seamlessly blends commercial, retail, garage, and residential spaces.
During his tenure as President of Goodstein Realty, Leonard co-developed the third-party brokerage company with Ivan Goodstein. The company expanded to 12 satellite offices, boasting 300 real estate agents and achieving over $350 million in annual real estate property sales. This successful trajectory culminated in the sale of the company to Douglas Elliman Real Estate, the largest real estate brokerage firm in the New York region in 2005.
